職業柄どこぞに出向いては集めて来た印刷物達がある。
蒐集したものの開かれずに日々コンテナに溜まっていくそれら。
印刷されたシーズンを過ぎてしまえば価値がなくなってしまうそれらを見返して、まだ残しておきたい写真やタイポグラフィを切り抜き、床中に並べ、スティック糊を用いて集めてみた。
何かになにかを付け加える(例えばポテトにケチャップをかける)ことで、また違う味わいが生まれるのではないかと思った。
クレイジーソルトにオリーブオイルとワインビネガーを混ぜるような、マヨネーズに醤油と胡椒を混ぜ合わせるようなことが出来たらいいと考えた。
混ぜ合わせる上で留意したことは下記の2点のみ。
1.それぞれのコンテンツの関連性が近いもの
2.もしくはそれぞれの関係性が明らかに遠すぎるもの
その他は思いのままに、手が動くままに貼り合わせた。
そしてこの冊子を手にした人がまた同じように混ぜ合わせることを考慮して、クリップ留めにとどめた。
I had inspiration to produce this zine by using condiments as my muse.
I am thinking about mixing salt with olive oil, or mixing wine vinegar with mayonnaise, or maybe even soy-sauce or pepper.
I’d like the imagery to be referenced to the taste of the sauces.
Such as the way french fries taste with ketchup.
Even though french fries are delicious without any sauces.
I’d like for someone to get a sense of how it would taste with the sauce.
The main purpose for mixing the images is, because I wanted to take pieces of my favorite images and merge them into one. I want them to look as if they are one image.
I will take contents from other images that I like and will place them onto another image which will serve as my base. Therefore when the two images come together they will be merged into one piece of art.
1. The each contents which have a similar relationship.
2. Or the each contents which have no relationship.
I bundled ‘Sauce’ together with a stapler, keeping the idea in mind that if someone were to take it, they could also add to it by mixing in their own favorite things.
